Reba McEntire

Reba McEntire is one of the best known country music stars in the world. Although she is not as young as some of the more recent stars, McEntire still has no problem holding her own. At the age of 52, she is still going strong with performances, new releases, and much more. In addition to her talent as a singer, McEntire is also a songwriter and actress. In fact, she even had her own television show in which she was the star.

During the mid 1970’s, McEntire began to make a name for herself. It was in 1976 when one of her singles finally made its way into the Top 100. Peaking at number 88, I Don’t Want To Be A One Night Stand got her career moving in the right direction. Although this song will always be remembered as her first Top 100 single, there have been many since that have been just as popular.

Since releasing her first album in 1977, there have been many more to follow. In fact, McEntire has recorded 24 albums over the course of her career. The most recent, Reba: Duets, was released in 2007. This album quickly shot up to number one on the United States Country List. After only a few months of sales, the album went double platinum. And believe it or not, it has yet to slow down.

McEntire has had so many Top 100 singles over the years that it would be impossible to list them all. With that being said, here are a few of her more popular singles: That Makes Two of Us, You Lift Me Up to Heaven, I’m Not that Lonely Yet, Can’t Even Get the Blues, You’re the First Time I’ve Thought About Leaving, How Blue, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, How Was I to Know, Somebody, and Because of You.

Reba McEntire has not missed a beat since exploding onto the country music scene in the 1970’s. It is safe to say that she will be around for many more years to come.
